About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Scrum Master to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile delivery for cross‑functional development teams: lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive iterative delivery.
  • Remove impediments, protect teams from disruptions, and ensure continuous flow and productivity aligned with PDLC/SDLC and DevSecOps practices.
  • Partner with Product Owners, developers, testers, analysts, and the Government PMO to maintain transparency, support prioritization, and align sprint outcomes with ARNG enterprise mission needs.
  • Coordinate lifecycle activities to ensure requirements traceability, documentation accuracy, configuration management discipline, and integration with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
  • Promote and enable automation, testing practices, CI/CD tooling, secure coding standards, and shift‑left testing within teams.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Government stakeholders, functional proponents, mission partners, and engineering teams to enable early feedback loops and continuous improvement.
  • Track Agile metrics (velocity, sprint burndown, impediments) and produce status summaries to inform program leadership and governance reviews.
  • Mentor teams and stakeholders on Agile best practices, scaling patterns, and effective Scrum ceremonies to mature organizational Agile capability.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.

  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR
    • Relevant DoD/military training (examples: Cyber 101; IT Project Manager (Advanced) Playlist; Scrum Master certification); OR
    • Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (examples: RCCE Level 1; CCISO; CCSP; CISA; CISM; CISSP; DAWIA PM Advanced; FITSP‑A/FITSP‑M; GFACT; GSLC).
  • Required experience and skills:

    • IT/program delivery experience with at least 5+ years serving as Scrum Master or Agile coach for software development teams in enterprise or DoD environments.
    • Demonstrated ability to run multiple concurrent Agile teams, coordinate cross‑team dependencies, and scale Agile practices across programs.
    • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe/practical scaling), CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps integration, and automated testing strategies.
    • Proficiency with Agile tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps) for backlog management, traceability, and reporting.
    • Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and executive briefing skills.
  • Desired:

    • Prior DoD/ARNG experience and familiarity with RMF/ATO implications in Agile/DevSecOps workflows.
    • Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe SPC, or PMP and experience establishing Agile Centers of Excellence or coaching at scale.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
