Engineering modernization and integration practices to include Digital Engineering and Agile at Scale for all of NGA, NSG, and ASG.
About The Role

We are seeking an Integration Engineer with hands-on experience across the Systems Engineering & Integration Lifecycle (e.g., Architecture, Requirements, CONOPS, Integration, Test, Transition) to support a variety of enterprise transformation initiatives across GEOINT mission systems and projects. The ideal candidate has familiarity with the GEOINT Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) Architecture and will bring a critical-thinking mindset to strategic enterprise architecture and technical planning, engineering analyses, and cross-organization coordination and integration activities to modernize the GEOINT architecture and advance GEOINT mission capabilities.

 

As a member of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Division’s Integration Team, you will work alongside Expert, Mid, and Junior Engineer and Integrator teammates to conduct a wide variety of analyses (e.g., Architecture Gap Analysis, Enterprise Requirements Analysis, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (COAs), and Trade Studies), developing recommendations that will inform investment decisions (e.g., system divestitures and consolidation).  You will apply your GEOINT and Integration Engineering knowledge to support a variety of integration activities across NGA Program Executive Offices (PEOs), ensuring synchronization of activities and documentation of the Enterprise baseline (e.g., architecture, requirements, interfaces).  Working within NGA’s Digital Engineering Environment, you will help to facilitate the development of integrated project plans, requirements, epics, target state architectures, CONOPS, and roadmaps. You will participate in cross-organizational Integrated Project Teams focused on Analytic, Collection Management, Data Services, Foundation GEOINT, and Information Technology modernization, ensuring integrated solutions and capability deliveries.     

 

Duties include (but are not limited to): In partnership with Systems Engineer, Integrator, and Architecture Teammates,

  • Perform architecture gap analysis and develop the Future State Enterprise Architecture.
  • Conduct engineering analyses to inform GEOINT Mission and IT capability investment decisions in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture baseline.
  • Conduct baseline analysis, driving allocation of requirements to systems architecture components and executing programs and end-to-end traceability of requirements, architecture, etc.
  • Capture and translate mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
  • Perform systems integration activities across organizations; lead and participate in integrated project teams, driving the development of project plans, architecture and engineering artifacts (e.g., CONOPS), roadmaps / schedules, Risks, etc. Define the integration / interface requirements.
  • Lead / participate in Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Provide thought leadership, identifying opportunities to expand team scope and defining project plans to capture team tasking, deliverables, and execution timelines.
  • Participate in NGA Governance, Configuration Management, and Risk Management processes.
  • Help define modernized system integration processes, driving enhanced adoption of agile practices and digital engineering, efficiencies, and increased partnerships across a large number of organizations.

Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or 12+ years equivalent Senior level experience as an Integration Engineer.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience working experience in government or industry in database management or Big Data analysis.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

 

Desired:

  • Experience / working knowledge of the GEOINT TCPED Architecture (Data Providers, Systems / Services, Interfaces, Data Flows)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transformational initiatives, such as Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Cloud, and/or Edge Nodes
  • Experience with agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification(s)
  • Experience / working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools, and languages
  • Senior-level working experience leading the development of program and project integration solutions across the enterprise.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
