Engineering modernization and integration practices to include Digital Engineering and Agile at Scale for all of NGA, NSG, and ASG.
About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Government in guiding engineering teams across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agency partners. This role is responsible for applying a multi-disciplinary systems engineering approach to ensure the successful delivery of timely, accurate GEOINT across complex, enterprise-level environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor mid- and junior-level engineers across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, test, and sustainment
  • Guide requirements analysis, traceability, and allocation across architectures, systems, and programs
  • Support the translation of mission and customer needs into scalable system and capability solutions
  • Evaluate and guide solution design efforts based on requirements, mission priorities, and emerging technologies
  • Perform systems integration activities across complex systems-of-systems environments
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments
  • Contribute to strategic technical planning, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design
  • Assess and optimize cloud-based services, workflows, and system performance limitations
  • Operate at an enterprise level, integrating systems, services, and processes across major acquisition programs and organizational boundaries

Location: This opportunity is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field (or equivalent experience: 4 additional years with no degree, or 2 years with a non-STEM degree)
  • 12+ years of experience supporting government or industry programs in areas such as DoD/IC acquisition, requirements development, PPBES, or systems engineering within large, complex environments (e.g., systems-of-systems, SOA, cloud, on-prem, or hybrid architectures)
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NSG, ASG, and NRO enterprise environments
  • Experience supporting NGA, NSG/ASG, IC, or DoD programs
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM discipline
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering tools, processes, and methodologies
  • Familiarity with software development frameworks
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience in geospatial intelligence disciplines (e.g., photogrammetry, remote sensing, GIS, geomatics, image science)
  • Active participation or leadership in professional organizations (e.g., USGIF, OGC, ASPRS, ASCE, ACSM, SAREM)

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
