Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a senior level Systems Engineer for SATCOM and Space Ground System projects of varying size and complexity to provide technical leadership throughout the entire engineering lifecycle. You’ll lead multi-functional teams of hardware, software, integration and test engineers, and interface with other internal organizations such as Production, Quality, Customer Support, and others.

 

In this role, you’ll be the Customer’s and Prime’s primary interface for all technical matters relating to the project:

  • Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
  • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of project's technical design.
  • Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture.

 

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Education/Experience: 6 years with MS/MA; 8 years with BS/BA; 10 years with AA/AS degree; without a degree, 12 years' experience may be considered.
  • Must be a US Citizen. Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Strong data analytics skills for signals and RF data from a variety of sources (IQ files, CSV files, database feeds, etc...), to include strong skills in MATLAB (or equivalent tool)
  • Familiarity with SATCOM links and hardware, ground system architectures, component functionality and testing methods used when integrating large communications systems
  • Experience in SysML using Enterprise Architect, Cameo System Modeler, Rhapsody, or other tools
  • Experience using MBSE
  • Sec+ Certification
  • Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter. 

 

Desired Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of signal processing, digital communications theory, and network communications
  • Experience executing project development using Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with cloud-based and Kubernetes-enabled applications
  • Familiarity with automated test scripting and tools (e.g., Bamboo)
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (e.g., Git, Atlassian tools, Artifactory, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
