Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.
This position is remote.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
Monitor IT infrastructure using Nagios and respond to alerts.
Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer IT systems.
Manage system infrastructure, including patching and upgrades.
Handle daily operations, monitor systems, and resolve any issues that arise.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve second-level technical problems.
Perform system administration for Windows and Linux operating systems.
Provide Tier 3 support for complex Windows and Linux system issues.
Manage storage allocation, backups, recovery, and replication processes.
Assist with system platform migrations.
Track vendor maintenance and support agreements to ensure coverage.
Provision user accounts for production and database servers.
Create and maintain standard operating procedures for production and disaster recovery database platforms.
Basic Qualifications:
Extensive experience in system administration for Windows and Linux environments.
Skilled in monitoring IT infrastructure and systems using Nagios.
Strong knowledge of server maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Proficient in storage management, backups, recovery, and replication processes.
Experienced in managing user accounts, permissions, and access for production and database servers.
Ability to perform Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex system issues.
Familiar with system migrations and platform upgrades.
Proficient with standard system administration tools, scripts, and automation processes.
Experience maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures for production and disaster recovery systems.
Knowledgeable in tracking vendor maintenance and support agreements to ensure system coverage.
