About The Role

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior User Interface (UI) Developer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals to lead the development of intuitive, scalable, and responsive user interfaces. The ideal candidate is passionate about user experience and modern UI technologies and can take ideas from concept to execution in a collaborative Agile environment. Our program is on the cutting-edge of health care reform and Information Technology modernization in the United States and is making a difference in the lives of all Americans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality, scalable, and reusable UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., Angular, Angular Material, etc.), ensuring consistency, performance, and accessibility across the application
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI developers and other team members to deliver seamless, user-centric interfaces.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across devices and browsers.
  • Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior developers on front-end development.
  • Translate wireframes and visual designs into functional, pixel-perfect code.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and propose improvements to UI development processes.
  • Ensure Section 508 Compliance, performance, and security standards.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with Ph.D.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and one or more modern JS frameworks.
  • Experience with UI state management (e.g., Redux, Context API, MobX).
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles, RESTful APIs, and component-based design systems.
  • Proficiency with version control tools such as Git.
  • Experience with testing tools like Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library.
  • Understanding of accessibility and usability best practices.
  • Experience with JAWS and Dragon Dictate accessibility tools
  • Familiarity with build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, etc.).
  • Experience with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for interpreting designs.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and coding standards.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and a passion for great user experiences.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
  • Experience working with the federal government.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
