Program Overview
Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.
About The Role

Peraton requires Systems Architects to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 EOM.  This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.   

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365. 

 

SOF Integration Facility team is seeking an experienced and innovative F5 Engineer to support our USSOCOM’s network enterprise modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will manage, design, and optimize F5 solutions to ensure the availability, security, and performance of mission-critical applications. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-service driven, and eager to grow in a fast-paced IT operations environment.

 

  • Design, implement, and troubleshooting complex F5 configurations for multi-tiered environments.
  • Provide engineering support for F5 Virtual Appliances and the Traffic Management Operating System (TMOS).
  • Manage and maintain F5 load balancers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of critical services.
  • Collaborate with network, system, and application teams to plan and deploy F5 solutions for large-scale projects.
  • Perform performance analysis and tuning of F5 devices to optimize traffic management and application delivery.
  • Configure and manage security policies on F5 platforms, including Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS protection.
  • Configure hardware and software settings to maximize network performance.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure smooth application deployments.
  • Implement high-availability solutions with automated failover techniques.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of network/application issues and implement long-term fixes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging F5 technologies and industry best practices.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 6 years with HS degree, 4 years with AS/AA degree, 2 years with BS/BA
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • Experience with architectural design and implementation
  • Expertise with F5 platforms, Networking, and Linux.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, managing, and troubleshooting F5 BIG-IP environments.
  • Strong knowledge of government security requirements and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience in performing root cause analysis

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
