Program Overview
Peraton provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), deployed forces, CIO/J6, and end-users with high-quality IT platform and network services over an eight-year period.
About The Role

Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located at Camp H. M. Smith, HI.   

  

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.  

  

TAK Engineers provide engineering level support in accordance with the SIE OPORD, ensuring compliance with all technical requirements, system specifications, and performance standards. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Engineer, deploy, configure, and sustain TAK Server environments (RHEL and Windows Server) across NIPR, SIPR, IL6 (Azure), and AWS infrastructures.
  • Deploy and support ATAK, WinTAK, and WebTAK clients, including secure device provisioning, TAK data package creation, and certificate management.
  • Support lifecycle management activities including RHEL upgrades, patching, STIG implementation, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Assist with containerized TAK deployments and Kubernetes-based architectures under senior technical oversight.
  • Working with the Government to understand their requirements and evaluate possible technical solutions. 
  • Engineer host environments to support complex operational databases, software configuration control and system interfaces for computer systems related to customer requirements.
  • Maintains file servers, network access; documents, analyzes and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
  • Install, configure, and sustain tactical application servers (e.g., TRAX, FedHub, Compass) across classified and unclassified environments.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams to implement firewall rules, network configurations, and RMF-aligned security controls.
  • Provide technical support for integration events and operational exercises, including system preparation, cloud deployments, and connectivity troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • HS + 12 years of experience OR AS with 10 years of experience OR BS + 8 years of experience OR MS + 6 years of experience OR PHD with 3 years of experience
  • DoD IAT Level II certification
  • DoD TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience administering Windows and/or Linux systems within DoD enterprise environments, including SIPRNET and NIPRNET
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including system hardening and patch management
  • Experience deploying and sustaining TAK Server environments and supporting ATAK/WinTAK tactical mobility platforms
  • Experience supporting RMF processes, STIG implementation, and DoD cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Ability to develop and modify PowerShell scripts for administrative automation

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting SOCOM or SOF
  • Has knowledge of routing, switching, firewall technologies and how it impacts data flow through the network architecture 
  • Experience with TAK Cloud, hybrid cloud architectures, or cloud-hosted TAK deployments
  • Experience deploying and sustaining TAK Server environments and supporting ATAK/WinTAK tactical mobility platforms
  • Must be DoW 8140 under the Work Role Code 451 – System Administrator - Intermediate level or higher by 1 Oct 26

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
