About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Software Developer, Journeyman to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software components to implement application and system requirements.
- Implement user stories by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established standards and architectural guidance.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives to support Agile delivery commitments.
- Produce technical documentation describing design decisions, functionality, and usage to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
- Execute unit, integration, and functional tests to validate software quality and identify defects; verify fixes through iterative testing.
- Collaborate with senior developers, product owners, and QA to refine requirements, resolve implementation issues, and support releases.
- Apply configuration management and version control practices to ensure traceability and controlled deployments.
- Follow industry‑standard development methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement of coding and delivery practices.

Qualifications
- 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
Candidate must meet ONE of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (BS) plus 3–5 years of software development experience; OR
- Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (examples: CSSLP; AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate; RHCE).
Required experience and skills:
- Software development experience with demonstrated hands‑on coding, testing, and debugging.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and familiarity with web/backend frameworks, APIs, and database integration.
- Experience with unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and build/release workflows.
- Strong problem‑solving, code documentation, and collaboration skills in Agile team environments.
Desired:
- Prior DoD/enterprise application development experience and familiarity with secure coding practices and RMF/ATO considerations.
- Experience with containerization, cloud services, or automation scripting (PowerShell/Python).

Details
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
