Program Overview
Supports the U. S. Air Force by providing processes and tools to enable the enterprise division and its customers to acquire, develop, manage, transform, inspect, store, distribute, and maintain technical data. Recognized as the authority in technical data management, the program sustains two Air Force Enterprise systems.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Developer to support one of its Cyber & Intel sector programs. In this role, you will serve as a key member of our deployment team, supporting the full software release lifecycle for mission‑critical Air Force systems.

 

Location: Robins Air Force Base, GA; Flexible for occasional telework – must be local to work location and able to be on-site as necessary.

 

Role and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the full software release lifecycle for mission‑critical Air Force systems.
  • Working under the direction of the Deployment Manager, you will help ensure that Government Off‑the‑Shelf (GOTS), Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS), and custom‑developed applications are deployed securely, reliably, and consistently across alpha, beta, and production environments.

Mission‑Specific Deployment

  • Deploy software updates and proprietary applications to Air Force alpha, beta, and production systems.
  • Follow a tailored, documented deployment framework designed to meet Air Force security and operational requirements.

Release Coordination

  • Support the Deployment Manager in planning release windows aligned with mission timelines.
  • Coordinate with development, cybersecurity, QA, help desk, and operations teams to ensure all deployment prerequisites are met.

Execution & Verification

  • Execute deployment scripts and configure system environments.
  • Perform thorough post‑deployment verification to confirm system integrity and application functionality.

Process & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of deployment activities, configurations, and results.
  • Provide feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the Air Force deployment process.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or 3+ years of relevant experience with an MS/MA degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in roles such as Software Development, Software Deployment, Systems Administration, or IT Support.
  • Demonstrated understanding of software or system update processes.
  • Familiarity with command‑line interfaces (CLI) in Windows (PowerShell/CMD) or Linux (Bash).
  • Experience writing queries for Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking principles (IP addressing, ports, firewalls).
  • Basic knowledge of .NET and Java development languages.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Must be eligible to work on-site at Robins AFB and obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a DoD or other U.S. Government environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with version control systems, particularly SVN.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and related methodologies.
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira.
  • Experience developing automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Perl).
  • Experience with C++ software development.
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter deployments.

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
