Program Overview
Supports the Navy Research Laboratory with projects in oceanography, acoustics, geospatial modeling, and mine warfare, providing applied research and software development. Team members, who possess both scientific expertise and software coding skills, work closely with the customer to deliver exceptional operational products.
About The Role
Peraton is hiring a Software Developer for a remote position, migrating and enhancing a customer application into the gov-cloud.
What you'll do:
- Participates with Peraton team and customer to determine detailed requirements for new or enhanced application functionality.
- Work remotely supporting program.
- Following general, high-level guidance, migrates and modernizes application code within a new gov-cloud solution.
- Assists in the detailed design of new application functionality.
- Uses Visual Studio to develop and test code for new functionality.
- Works with other teams to comprehend and assimilate/integrate separately-developed functionality into the software.
- Posses a DevSecOps toolset (e.g. Jira/Git/Confluence) to plan and manage work and to manage documentation and code.
- Assists with configuring CI/CD piplelines within the DevSecOps and uses them to deploy the application to testing environments.
- Assists with integration and regression testing for the completed application.
- Enables demonstrations and verification testing of application functionality.
- Complies with applicable government directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software and data security.
- Assists with configuring DevSecOps processes and use them to manage tasks and deliverables.
- Uses Visual Studio and .Net Core MVC, Razor Pages, C#, JavaScript, JSON, TypeScript, SQL Server and other languages and technologies to re-develop and integrate the software application within the designated gov-cloud environment.
- Sets up and uses continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automatically test and deploy software application changes.
- Develops and executes test cases to verify all required application functionality.
- Uses cloud services and other selected technologies to test and scan the application for compliance with security requirements.
- Prepares the test environment and database for demonstration and verification testing of the application. Assists in the capture and handling of observations/results.
- Consults with solution owners to plan and coordinate software and environment changes as needed to enhance integration and functionality.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA, 0 years with PhD, 7 years AS/AA or 9 years HS.
- Abiilty to obtain Active Secret clearance.
- Ability to work remotely.
- Certification: Security+ required, within 30 days of hire.
- Direct hands-on experience developing software applications for a customer using .Net, C#, HTML, JavaScript, JSON, TypeScript, Razor, SQL Server and Git.
- Direct hands-on experience with cloud-based DevSecOps tool suites like Jira/Confluence/GitLab and test management would be a plus.
- Must be a U.S Citizen
Desired experience:
- Familiarity with managing, maintaining, testing and deploying software applications in a gov-cloud environment would be a plus.
- Experience with application containerization. (Docker, Kubernetes)
Details
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
