Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Part-time Software Quality Assurance Intern in Simi Valley, CA. to support our PC based Graphical User Interface (GUI) situational display application. Known as ADIVS (Air Defense Interoperability Validation System) this application is used to test the data link (i.e. Link 16) capabilities of systems prior to them being fielded. Working alongside our experienced software engineers you will be exposed to all phases of product development from requirements to deliverables utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Install Shield, TestComplete, GitHub, Subversion and JIRA to name a few.

 

Candidate should be able to work a minimum of 24/hours a week during the academic year and 40/hours a week during summer 2026.  

 

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Office administration support (purchase orders, supplies, shipping, organizing, etc.)
  • Participate in software testing, bug tracking, and requirements traceability using JIRA
  • Assist in preparing Software Documentation to include writing test procedures, trouble reports, and user manual updates
  • Creating Power Point presentations that capture software changes
  • Preparing software deliverables – CD’s, labels
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma and are entering your sophomore year as a student pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field at an accredited university offering a 4-year degree program
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems
  • Experience with MS Suite: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
  • Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance, which requires a US citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Experience with Python, JIRA, Subversion, TortoiseSVN, and TestComplete
  • Basic software requirements development and software testing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to be detailed-oriented and to prioritize work and meet quick turnaround deadlines
  • Experience with computer hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Experience with Python programing language

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
