Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Senior Application Developer for the Department of Defense (DoD) DMDC Enterprise Law Enforcement Support Services (ELEs2) program. In this role, you will provide application development and maintenance services for enterprise data services and the related applications to include new design and development and maintaining and enhancing existing applications. The candidate is expected to provide the services required to successfully implement and deliver application software solutions to the products he/she will be supporting. The solutions need to be stable, reliable, scalable, well documented, and of high quality. You will be responsible for coding, unit testing, integration testing, bug fixes, implementation, as well as ongoing support of the product delivered. The candidate may be responsible for performing as a mentor and subject matter expert on their team. 

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Leverage your in-depth knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems including knowledge of data modeling concepts, ERD design and development . 
  • Strong experience in developing enterprise Java solutions following standard/best practices including Object Oriented Analysis and Design and design patterns.  
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge on Software Development methodologies (Waterfall,  Agile/Scrum)  
  • Demonstrate excellent programming skills in Java and Java EE. 
  • Demonstrate Analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Excellent communication abilities. 
  • Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to identify critical functional requirements for new or revised applications 
  • Develop technical design and procedures for new or revised applications 
  • Lead the review and analysis of system problems to identify solutions and/or make appropriate referrals 
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans associated with system development, deployment, and ongoing support 
Qualifications
  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years in lieu of degree
  • Clearance Requirement: Ability to achieve Public Trust

  • Experience in leveraging AI in software development include: 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java,  
  • Familiarity in integrating AI models through APIs or SDKs  
  • NIPRGPT, CAMOCGP, OpenAI, Hugging Face, TensorFlow 
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools like:  
    • GitHub Copilot  
    • Codeium  
    • Machine learning concepts 
    • prompt engineering 
    • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques 
  • Developers should demonstrate the ability to optimize software workflows using AI for code generation, testing, debugging, and documentation, while ensuring secure, explainable, and ethical AI use within the development lifecycle

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
