Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is looking for a Supervisor of Engineering to support the NASA contract located at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The contract supports for Lauch Space Services with launch service insight activities through launch vehicle system engineering and mission analysis. Provides launch site engineering support for mission planning, as well as launch vehicle and spacecraft ground processing activities.

 

The NASA Launch Support Program (LSP’s) safety, reliability, and quality engineering activities; providing communication engineering support, along with operations and maintenance of NASA LSP’s communications and telemetry systems; performing technical integration services, information technology services, special studies, and other services as tasked; supporting LSP launch operations; and supporting NASA facility maintenance at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.”

 

Responsibilities of the position:

  • Responsible for overall functional management of Peraton employees within four customer engineering disciplines.
  • Employee Performance Management
    • Performance evaluations
    • Employee Goal development
    • Merit Increase Planning
    • Promotion Development
  • Budget Projections
    • Group WBS 5-yr. labor and travels estimates
    • Annual estimate updates
  • Employee Travel coordination and approval
  • Handle interview and hiring process as dictated by contract needs
  • Represent Peraton at routine leadership meetings
  • Monthly accomplishment report review and approval
  • Overtime management and approval
  • Prepare technical briefings and present to NASA Engineering Review Board for program approval

    Resolve technical issues with Spacecraft and Launch Vehicle teams

     

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial & systems engineering, or a related engineering field
  • A minimum of 6 years of work experience
  • Experience working with NASA at Kennedy Space Center
  • Experience working with NASA’s Launch Services Program (LSP)
  • Experience with insight and oversight of Ground Support Equipment (GSE)

 

 

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
