About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support systems engineering across the lifecycle: requirements analysis, technical design, system integration, testing/validation, deployment planning, and sustainment.
  • Develop engineering artifacts: CONOPS, interface specifications, configuration baselines, process flows, data exchange models, and migration/cybersecurity strategies.
  • Build proof‑of‑concepts to validate designs, reduce technical risk, and inform decision‑making.
  • Analyze new requirements and evaluate architectural impacts for integration of systems, applications, and cloud services across production, staging, test, and COOP environments.
  • Coordinate integration events and resolve system‑level issues with architects, developers, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and stakeholders.
  • Support setup, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and cloud platforms per approved designs and standards.
  • Produce engineering documentation, test support materials, configuration updates, and evidence for traceability and operational readiness.
  • Apply systems engineering best practices to align system behaviors and dependencies with enterprise architecture and modernization objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.

  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR
    • Relevant DoD/military training (example: Research & Development Specialist (Intermediate) Playlist); OR
    • Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (example: CompTIA Security+).
  • Required experience and skills:

    • Systems engineering, integration, or technical program experience supporting enterprise or DoD environments.
    • Experience producing CONOPS, ICDs, configuration baselines, and system test/validation artifacts.
    • Practical skills in integration testing, deployment support, and troubleshooting across multi‑environment deployments.
    • Familiarity with RMF/ATO evidence needs, configuration/change control, and collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams.
    • Strong technical writing and documentation skills for engineering and test artifacts.
  • Desired:

    • Prior DoD/ARNG systems engineering or modernization program experience.
    • Experience with cloud platform deployments, automation/DevOps toolchains, and model‑based or MBSE practices.

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
