About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer (O&M) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA’s customers. 

 

As part of the modernization program, the Systems Engineer will provide production and operational support to various services running on enterprise platforms; deployment or change implementation support; in-depth troubleshooting of issues; and development and updates to Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs). The Systems Engineer must be able to quickly learn business workflows, technical architecture and dependent systems as well as service-layer interfaces of supported services. The ideal candidate brings strong experience supporting complex, modern enterprise environments, demonstrates sound engineering judgement, and thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven operations.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall Production and Operational support for Services deployed on various platforms such as WebLogic, React, Salesforce
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting of issue at hand by reviewing App, Platform and System layer logs as required.
  • Participate in 24x7 On-call support on weekly rotation.
  • Develop and maintain Knowledge Based Articles and SOPs.
  • Perform and participate in knowledge share with internal and external teams, as required.
  • Experience in providing Production support for applications deployed on at least one Enterprise Platform from WebLogic, React, Salesforce.
  • Assist in developing, enhancing, and testing Puppet scripts.
  • Must be able to work with multiple cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
  • Provide deployment or change implementation support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity, audit, and configuration management requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience working in Agile environment.
  • At least 3 years' of experience in providing production and operational support for Mission Critical Services running on one or more Enterprise platforms such as React, WebLogic, Salesforce.
  • At least 5 years' of experience working on Linux OS.
  • At least 5 years' of experience in at least one RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience in providing production and operational support for Services in Cloud.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD tools, e.g. GitLab, Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Must be able to obtain or have an Active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearance acceptable.  
  • Must be a US Citizen.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ServiceNow.
  • Experience in Agile tools such as Jira.
  • Experience working with Confluence.
Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
