Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer / Splunk Administrator to support a critical mission of national importance within our Cyber Mission Business Unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. The selected candidate will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing our enterprise Splunk environment to ensure peak performance, scalability, and mission readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and enhance existing Splunk Enterprise and Enterprise Security deployments across the enterprise.
  • Manage all aspects of Splunk system administration, including operating system and application-level support.
  • Apply necessary upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to maintain secure and efficient operations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot logs to identify and resolve performance or integration issues.
  • Collaborate closely with both contractor and government teams to address technical challenges in real time.
  • Analyze and resolve system performance concerns such as latency, bottlenecks, and data flow interruptions.
  • Design and implement solutions based on stakeholder requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture goals.
  • Lead modernization efforts by:
    • Designing and sizing scalable Splunk architectures
    • Developing and optimizing data ingest capabilities
    • Performing data modeling and dashboard design
    • Enhancing visualization and reporting capabilities
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 13 years with a High School Diploma or GED
  • 8 years with a Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA)
  • 6 years with a Master’s degree (MS/MA)
  • 3 years with a Doctorate (PhD)
  • In lieu of a degree, five (5) additional years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted (total of 13 years).

Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on experience administering and leading Splunk implementations, including Enterprise Security.

 

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with current polygraph (required).

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
