About The Role

Systems Engineer | Location: Remote

Active TS/SCI with polygraph required – this position supports a high-priority mission with immediate impact.

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical operational systems and dataflow management within a dynamic technical environment. In this role, you will directly contribute to enabling mission success by ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems that process and deliver critical mission data to end users.

You will play a key role in modernizing dataflows and operational systems, helping transition legacy capabilities into cloud-based environments while supporting real-time mission needs. This is a hands-on opportunity for engineers with experience or interest in dataflow technologies, including Apache NiFi, to work on impactful systems that drive decision-making and operational effectiveness across mission environments.

What You’ll Do

  • process Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs) and implement efficient dataflow solutions
  • Create and manage dataflows using Apache NiFi
  • Manage and support operational systems that process and maintain mission data
    Review and process Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs) and implement efficient dataflow solutions
  • Support dataflow modernization efforts, including migration from hardware-based systems to virtual cloud environments
  • Evaluate existing dataflows, develop requirements, and rebuild flows in collaboration with operations teams
  • Develop system architecture diagrams depicting software and system functions
  • Support analytical requirements and mission needs

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience within the Intelligence Community working with mission systems that process and manage mission data
  • Experience working with mission data formats
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems CLI to manage software configurations and perform software upgrades
  • Familiarity with Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs)
  • Experience with Apache NiFi functionality for managing or building dataflows
  • Experience managing analytical needs and requirements
  • Experience creating system architecture diagrams depicting software and system functions
  • Experience with tools such as Zookeeper, Elasticsearch, Grafana, and NiFi Registry

This position will require on-call support after approximately six (6) months of on-the-job training.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
