About The Role

The Hybrid Architecture and Development for Experimental Systems (HADES) program is an exciting and cutting-edge initiative led by the U.S. Space Force, offering a unique opportunity to work on the forefront of space operations and technology. HADES focuses on the development, integration, and sustainment of prototype and operational satellite ground systems, satellite operations centers (SOCs), and critical support services. This program plays a vital role in supporting the Research and Development Space and Missile Operations (RDSMO) Ground System Enterprise (GSE) and is headquartered at the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Support Complex (RSC) at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

 

As the Task Order Lead,you will serve as the primary operational leader responsible for the successful execution of a mission-critical engineering and cybersecurity effort supporting national security space missions. You will oversee daily contract performance while leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers, cybersecurity professionals, software developers, and mission support personnel delivering capabilities to Government stakeholders.

You will work closely with Government leadership to ensure technical execution, schedule adherence, staffing, financial performance, and mission priorities remain aligned throughout the life of the task order.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of the task order, ensuring technical, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Manage a cross-functional workforce supporting systems engineering, cybersecurity, software development, test engineering, DevSecOps, and mission operations.
  • Oversee staffing, onboarding, workload balancing, employee development, and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate priorities across multiple technical teams supporting classified mission systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitor contract performance metrics, risks, staffing levels, deliverables, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive proactive identification and resolution of technical, operational, and programmatic issues before they impact mission execution.
  • Partner with technical leads to ensure engineering efforts align with mission objectives, cybersecurity requirements, and Government priorities.
  • Support program reviews, technical interchange meetings, status briefings, Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, and executive-level customer engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, security policies, quality standards, and organizational processes.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and coordinate integrated delivery across teammate organizations.
  • Support financial execution including labor forecasting, staffing plans, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Foster a culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, technical excellence, and mission success.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI eligibility. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree and 6+ years; Additional four (4) years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will be considered.
  • 6+ years leading technical teams supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs.
  • Experience managing complex engineering or IT programs supporting classified environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering, cybersecurity, software development, or IT operations.
  • Knowledge of contract execution, staffing management, risk management, and program reporting.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle, RMF, DevSecOps, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief senior Government leadership.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading a Task Order, Program, or Operations team supporting DoD or Intelligence Community customers.
  • Experience supporting Space Force, Air Force, Space Domain Awareness, or other national security space missions.
  • Familiarity with Government cloud environments and cloud service offerings (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Oracle Cloud for Government, or Google Distributed Cloud) supporting classified or mission-critical workloads.
  • PMP certification.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and geographically dispersed technical teams.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, and performance metrics.
  • Experience transitioning engineering efforts from development into operational sustainment.

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
