About The Role

Technology Integration & Enablement Lead

 

Within Peraton's Space and Mission Solutions sector, there is an immediate need for a cleared Technology Integration & Enablement Lead to serve as the operational backbone of our emergent technology initiatives. This is a full-time position based in Reston, VA with flexibility for hybrid work and travel to customer and corporate sites as needed.

 

This role, reporting direct to the Sector Chief Technology Officer (CTO), is the connective tissue between our Emergent Technology SMEs, the CTO's strategic vision, business line leadership, and other sectors throughout the enterprise. You will ensure that technical expertise translates into documented roadmaps, funded investments, trained talent, and measurable business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities may include: 

  • Technology Roadmapping & Standards
    • Develop, govern, and maintain technology roadmaps in partnership with Emergent Technology SMEs and sector stakeholders
    • Translate roadmaps into actionable inputs for capture strategies, proposal development, and program planning while balancing near-term customer readiness with longer-term technology priorities and emerging trends
  • IRAD Strategy Execution
    • Execute the IRAD strategy set by the CTO, managing the full lifecycle from ideation through investment decision to project execution while tracking business impact metrics. 
    • Own the IRAD vetting process—evaluating proposals for technical merit, business alignment, customer relevance, and growth potential in partnership with SMEs and sector stakeholders
    • Maintain visibility into sector-wide IRAD portfolio, identifying gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for consolidation or expansion
  • Technology Transfer & Integration
    • Strengthen and maintain relationships with peer sectors and other internal organizations to help identify technologies, tools, and approaches that could enhance Space sector capabilities. Drive technology transfer into sector programs and pursuits
    • Facilitate knowledge transfer from Emergent Technology SMEs into business lines—ensuring innovations don't stay siloed with individual experts
    • Create mechanisms for capturing and disseminating lessons learned, best practices, and reusable technical assets
  • Talent Development & Management
    • Execute the talent development strategy aligned to the CTO's vision bysupporting talent retention and strategic workforce planning across the sector, and ensuring mechanisms are in place to maintain visibility into workforce capabilities and readiness
    • Partner with HR and business leadership to define career paths for technical staff, particularly in emergent technology areas
    • Identify training needs and collaborate with SMEs to develop both formal and informal training programs to transfer and embed expert knowledge across the organization.
    • Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms that enhance technical productivity and capability development
  • Program Enablement & Customer Value
    • Partner with program managers to identify efficiencies and optimization opportunities on existing programs—reducing cost, improving delivery, or enhancing quality
    • Identify ways to add value to customers through technology infusion, process improvement, or capability enhancement on current contracts
    • Work with SMEs to assess programs for emergent technology insertion opportunities that benefit both customer mission and Peraton performance
    • Support new business pursuits by ensuring technical differentiators, talent, and tools are available to capture teams
    • Connect program needs with IRAD investments, technology transfer opportunities, and SME expertise
    • Track and communicate business impact of technology enablement activities—cost savings, customer satisfaction, contract growth
  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure stable execution of technology initiatives—roadmapping, IRAD, technology transfer, talent development, and program enablement all running smoothly
    • Identify and remove obstacles that prevent SMEs and technical staff from focusing on high-value activities
    • Continuously improve processes, tools, and governance to increase efficiency and impact
    • Provide regular reporting to CTO and sector leadership on execution status, IRAD portfolio health, talent development progress, and program enablement outcomes
    • Maintain visibility across all initiatives to identify synergies, gaps, and opportunities for consolidation
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 16+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. The candidate must maintain the clearance 
  • Demonstrated experience in technology strategy, R&D management, or technical operations within the defense/intelligence industry
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining technology roadmaps that align business, customer, and technology perspectives
  • Experience managing IRAD or R&D portfolios—from proposal evaluation through execution and transition
  • Strong understanding of defense acquisition processes and how technology investments translate to competitive advantage
  • Experience with talent development, training programs, or technical workforce management
  • Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills—ability to bring together diverse stakeholders and drive alignment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships across technical, business, and corporate organizations
  • Full-time availability with flexibility for hybrid work and travel to customer/corporate sites as needed

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline
  • Direct experience supporting NRO, NGA, USSF, DIA, NASA, or NOAA programs or customers
  • Background in one or more emergent technology areas (AI/ML, cloud, digital twin, space networks) sufficient to engage credibly with SMEs
  • Experience with technology transfer from R&D organizations to operational programs
  • Process design and continuous improvement mindset—ability to create scalable, repeatable approaches
  • Familiarity with Peraton's corporate structure, Peraton Labs, and cross-sector collaboration mechanisms
  • MBA or graduate degree combining technical and business disciplines
  • Experience building or managing technical career frameworks and development programs
  • Knowledge of industry tools for roadmapping, portfolio management, and talent management
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar process/project management certifications
  • An active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph is desired
  • Established network across defense technology community, including government, industry, and academia
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present to executive leadership

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
