Program Overview
Provides IC data management support to modernize mega data repositories, dataflow management, data provenance and compliance validation, and streaming solutions.
About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking a Test Engineer to assist in testing the Apache NiFi Java dataflow application. The Test Engineer will perform configuration and testing on specialized data processors and controller services used to process, transform, route mission data. Testing activities consist of both manual and automated testing of the functionality of the NiFi components. The test team member will perform hands on testing to these components, as well as work with the systems engineering and development teams to implement test automation. In addition the Test Engineer will test deployment of code and infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes and Docker in a cloud AWS environment.

  • Ability to provide overall leadership of the T&E task and serve as primary liaison to the government for supporting contract coordination and task execution.
  • Ability to communicate issues and solutions to the broader government and contract management structure as requested by Leadership.
  • Ability to manage T&E resources and tasks; ensure quality assurance of test processes and products.
  • Ability to drive innovation and responsiveness to program changes and evolving T&E status to help manage program risk: develop alternative courses of action, work-arounds, and fall-back positions with a recommended course of action for each risk, and monitor and re-evaluate risks at appropriate milestones.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional TE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eight (8) years of experience as a TE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Ability to provide overall leadership of the T&E task and serve as primary liaison to the government for supporting contract coordination and task execution.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Agile development environments with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices

  • Proficient in installing, configuring, and testing complex Java-based applications

  • Background in test engineering and integration of modern hardware/software systems

  • Skilled in developing and executing test strategies, plans, traceability matrices, procedures, and reports

  • Strong ability to write detailed test cases and document discrepancies

  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence, and SynapseRT

  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi, Dataflow, and mission-specific data formats

  • Proficient in Linux command-line usage and scripting for testing purposes

  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
