Program Overview
Electro-mechanical repair and overhaul of mail processing, delivery and bulk processing equipment, including repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to a component level. These services ensure the continued essential automation, mechanization of retail and bulk processing equipment used in mail processing and retail installations across the entire country.
About The Role

Peraton is building a pipeline of skilled and qualified candidates to support a newly awarded United States Postal Service (USPS) program in Norman, OK. As we ramp up this effort, we are seeking engineering professionals interested in upcoming opportunities over the next several months.

 

The Mail Transport Support Center (MTSC) plays a critical role in the USPS mission—ensuring the nation’s mail processing infrastructure operates efficiently. This work directly impacts package delivery, customer service, and overall operational performance.

 

We are proactively sourcing candidates for the following roles:

  • Mechanical Engineers
  • Electrical Engineers
  • Systems Engineers

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, and implement test plans, specifications, and engineering changes based on system requirements
  • Assist in the design, development, and modification of systems, machines, and related components
  • Provide technical support in evaluating repairable items based on system requirements
  • Support the design and/or fabrication of electrical, mechanical, or electronic systems, assemblies, and subassemblies
  • Contribute to design updates using CAD and schematic software tools
  • Complete assigned technical tasks and provide customer support within your engineering discipline
  • Represent the organization in technical discussions and limited customer interactions
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Assist in reviewing procedures to ensure testing and repair processes are adequate
  • Analyze failure data from field locations and recommend solutions
  • Develop practical, innovative solutions to complex technical challenges aligned with organizational goals
  • Support project milestones and deliverables
  • Communicate with supervisors, project leads, and team members, with occasional customer interaction
  • Participate in technical meetings and deliver briefings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Systems Engineering with 2+ years experience, master's degree with 0+ years experience. 
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. 
  • Ability to pass a company background check and drug screen
  • Resided in the U.S. the past five years with no more than six months outside travel of the U.S. during this time frame. 
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the engineering field
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Experience with AutoCad and Cad type software
  • Experience in aspects of design, development, research and new product introduction (NPI)
  • Communicate effectively; both written and oral
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

 

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
