About The Role

Position Summary

 

We are seeking a skilled VDI Administrator to manage and maintain our cloud-based Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of virtual desktops, managing operating system images, and supporting installed applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Desktop and Windows OS image creation and management.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Day-to-Day Administration

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the Citrix VDI environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve VDI-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Image and Application Management
  • Create, update, and manage Windows OS images for virtual desktops.
  • Install, configure, and maintain applications within the VDI environment.

Performance and Availability

  • Ensure VDI services are available and operating at optimal levels.
  • Implement best practices for resource allocation, load balancing, and performance tuning.

Security and Compliance

  • Apply patches and updates to OS images and applications.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational security standards and policies.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on system performance, usage, and incidents.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years with a HS Diploma
  • Minimum 3-5 years in administering Citrix Virtual Desktop environments.
  • Strong background in Windows OS image creation and lifecycle management.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Citrix Cloud and related technologies (Citrix Studio, Director, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell) for automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management best practices.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
