The Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) is an independent federal agency that provides a home, health care, and community to our nation's retired enlisted service members and veterans. There are two AFRH's campuses, Washington, DC and Gulfport, Mississippi. The AFRH will implement MHS GENESIS, the Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) system at both campuses.
The program covers the full EHR deployment lifecycle, from readiness and workflow design through data migration, testing, training, go-live, and transition to sustainment, and it spans more than 50 clinical, technical, training, and program management roles. Positions are remote, with possible travel to the DC and Gulfport campuses during dress rehearsals, cutover, and go-live. All positions require U.S. citizenship, a favorable federal background investigation, and eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC), and where applicable, privileged accounts with appropriate certifications.
We will move AFRH onto MHS GENESIS without missing a beat in resident care. Translating AFRH's ambulatory, long-term care, dental, and ancillary workflows into the new system. Migrating and reconciling every resident's clinical history, build the interfaces and medical device connections, and ready the network, identity, and cyber foundation. Then commence testing, training, and run go-live from a 24x7 command center through stabilization.
Working hand in hand with AFRH clinical and business leaders, and the federal organizations that own MHS GENESIS. Following a disciplined, proven approach of repeated dress rehearsals, integrated testing, and measured training proficiency, with clinicians and engineers side by side so every technical decision reflects how care is actually delivered.
We are hiring across clinical workflow and informatics, MHS GENESIS configuration and architecture, data migration and engineering, interfaces and medical devices, network and cybersecurity, testing and readiness, training and organizational change management, deployment and command center operations, program management, and creative and digital services. Wherever your expertise lies, there is likely a seat at this table.
This is health IT with a face on it. Every workflow you design, record you migrate, and clinician you train directly supports veterans who devoted their professional lives to serving this country. You'll gain hands-on Federal EHR deployment experience, which is in high demand across federal health, and you'll do it remotely with meaningful on-site moments at two historic campuses.
