Peraton provides full life cycle space communications and tracking solutions (including Operations, Maintenance, Sustainment, and Development) to NASA customers utilizing the Near Space Network (including Space Relay, Direct-To-Earth) and Satellite Laser Ranging/Very Long Baseline Interferometry Networks

• Perform Ops, Maintenance and Sustainment.
• Provide system engineering, development, design, and installation/integration support.
• Act as the technical liaison for scientific spacecraft/missionsand launch vehicles needing support from GSFC’s communications networks.
• Analyze new capabilities or services.

Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA’s worldwide satellite communication networks and provides communications support for existing and upcoming science and human exploration missions. We are the prime contractor for NASA on the Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.
