Scope Of Contract

Program Description

Through the TARS contract, Peraton provides persistent detection and monitoring (surveillance)capability for interdicting low-level air, maritime and surface smugglers and narcotics traffickers along the United States-Mexico border, the FloridaStraits, and a portion of the Caribbean.

What We Do

Peraton provides program management, operations, and maintenance, mission support, and life-cycle management support, to provide effective and efficient TARS support for the Counter Drug/Counter Narcotics Trafficking (CD/CNT) and air sovereignty missions. These services focus on maximizing production and delivery of quality surveillance flight hours (QSFH) from the eight sites, 24 hours a day/365 days a year. Peraton accomplishes efficient and effective operations of tethered aerostat sites with all Government-furnished aerostat support systems, radars, cameras, weather equipment, communications systems, mooring systems, facilities, special purpose vehicles, associated equipment, and contract personnel necessary to accomplish the mission. Through its quality systems and ISO-compliant processes, Peraton expertly handles everything from repairs and obsolescence planning to managing the supply chain for thousands of parts and associated pieces of equipment.

How We Do It

Using tethered aerostats resembling blimps, TARS operators relay essential data to DHS that is used to closely monitor border activity. In addition, surveillance data is shared with the U.S. military and international law enforcement partners conducting related air surveillance and air sovereignty missions.
