About The Role

Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA’s Business, National Airspace, and Technical Computing Services (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected.

We’re looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it.

The role is based in Alaska.

Do you want to play a defining role in the future of aviation safety? As the Alaska Communications Engineering Advisor you’ll serve as a trusted senior advisor to FAA leadership, shaping the modernization of critical voice communication systems that keep America’s skies safe and connected.

You’ll ensure that these systems meet the FAA’s most vital mission needs — from operational continuity and cybersecurity to compliance with national and international standards.

Your authoritative insight into system architecture, human factors, and interoperability with automation and surveillance platforms will guide the FAA in making decisions that safeguard millions of travelers every day.

In this Alaska Communications Engineering Advisor role, you will:

  • Shape the future of air traffic communications by advising leadership on modernization strategies, transition planning, and technical risks.
  • Bring unmatched expertise on legacy and advanced systems, including Voice Switching and Control Systems (VSCS), Voice over IP (VoIP), and related communication technologies.
  • Ensure global compliance and safety by evaluating designs, proposals, and testing against FAA requirements, ICAO standards, and NAS architecture.
  • Strengthen system performance through independent assessments of resiliency, latency, interoperability, and cybersecurity.
  • Drive readiness and adoption by supporting requirements development, engineering reviews, verification/validation, and operational assessments.
  • Advance mission resilience by addressing cybersecurity, spectrum management, and continuity challenges.
  • Empower the FAA workforce through knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement, and training for smooth adoption of next-generation technologies
