Program Overview
Electro-mechanical repair and overhaul of mail processing, delivery and bulk processing equipment, including repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to a component level. These services ensure the continued essential automation, mechanization of retail and bulk processing equipment used in mail processing and retail installations across the entire country.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Business Planner to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals.  The Business Planner works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS.  The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.

 

Our Business Planner programs planning efforts of an organization’s activities with regard to customer projects or programs. Determines customer requirements and translates these requirements into organization plans.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

 

  • Participates in determining objectives and planning of assignment/projects.
  • Work reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Provides supporting information for quoting projects, status, workforce level, equipment availability, and other company capabilities.
  • Represents organization as a contact on contracts or projects.  Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant program or project matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. Extensive contacts with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of projects or contracts.
  • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years experience or Master's degree with 4+ years experience (or equivalent combination of training and professional work experience that provides the required knowledge and skills).
  • U.S Citizenship
  • Active Public Trust security clearance
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings

  • Demonstrate appropriate People Leadership Characteristics

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Experience preparing and analyzing data and figures

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Depot level repair experience
  • Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Physical activity may include reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
