Program Overview
RDG (Risk Decision Group) provides nationwide background investigations compliant with national government standards to include support of continuous vetting for over 110 government agencies.
About The Role

Peraton’s Risk Decision Group (RDG) is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership. This role analyzes business processes, translates requirements, and ensures technical solutions effectively support organizational goals.

 

This position will be 100% remote.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

     Business–Technology Alignment

  • Collaborate with business partners, technical teams, quality review, and project managers to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
  • Support feasibility and impact assessments for new features or enhancements.
  • Participate in solution design to confirm alignment with business intent.
  • Contribute to integration analysis across BI platforms and enterprise applications.
  • Offer guidance on using data effectively to support operational needs.

Project Support & Documentation

  • Assist project managers with defining project scope, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Work independently or within project teams to provide system analysis and guidance.
  • Develop documentation such as process maps, workflow diagrams, data mappings, and system behavior outlines.
  • Conduct walkthroughs, presentations, and reviews with stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of project artifacts required by PMO standards.

Quality & Testing Collaboration

  • Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are complete and testable.
  • Partner with quality review during testing cycles to clarify requirements and analyze defects.
  • Support change management processes, including evaluating and advancing change requests through the Change Control Board.

Business Analysis & Requirements Definition

  • Lead discovery sessions to understand business functions, goals, and system needs.
  • Analyze current processes and workflows to identify operational requirements.
  • Gather and document business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications aligned with enterprise standards.

     Continuous Improvement & Delivery Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve data usage, workflows, and solution design.
  • Monitor progress of project deliverables to support timely completion.
  • Recommend enhancements to requirements‑gathering and documentation practices.
  • Participate in team planning, prioritization, and release preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • US Citizenship
  • Current Tier 5 SSBI favorably adjudicated clearance
  • 5+ years of experience working on Federal Government contracts
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis or BI industry  
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 6 years of work experience may be considered

Preferred:

  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in technical writing, training
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

Details

Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
