About The Role

The team is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer for a product development team. The candidate will have a primary focus on supporting all aspects of agile software design and development for products that are integrated into systems and AWS Cloud Infrastructure. Duties include design & development of new capabilities, testing, optimization & performance tuning, and operation & sustainment functions. 

 

Core Required Competencies and Skills:

  • Proficiency in using AWS SDKs and APIs
  • Expertise in AWS Cloud Architecture design
  • Experience with AWS Cloud, AWS server-less architecture, and development and deployment of cloud applications.
  • Deep understanding of AWS Services, to include Lambdas functions
  • Agile development experience with source code management practices and tools
  • Expertise in Continuous Integration, Deployment, Testing and Monitoring practices
  • Experience/knowledge in development of/with APIs
  • Experience in the scripting language Python.
  • Experience developing Angular applications
  • Familiar with Git
  • Strong Linux experience

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Shall have at least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Shall have at least six (6) years of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C,C++
  • Shall have at least five (5) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
  • Shall have at least three (3) years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience.
  • A Master's degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience.
    • NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field. 

One of the following certifications is required:

  • AWS Certified Developer - Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
