About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced Computer Operations Analyst/Production Control Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Civilian, State & Local Division, Benefits & Infrastructure Operating Unit, an organization that serves the IT needs of state and local governments. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Alabama Location, Enforcement and Collections System (ALECS) Child Support System.

 

This is a remote role participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation and requiring occasional weekend work.

 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

  • In general, the position is responsible for providing systems administration services necessary to support batch production scheduling and for scheduling the environment and performance jobs for the ALECS production and backup systems using the provided systems, processes, and tools.
  • Analyze, plan, and manage production control activities to improve runtime.
  • Investigate production control problems, analyze root causes, and derive solutions.
  • Develop positive relationships with internal team members and customer team members to meet productivity goals.
  • The position supports a 24/7 mainframe environment for the Albuquerque, NM Data Center and is primarily day shift.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience or a Masters degree and 0 years of experience or a High School diploma and 6 years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder
  • Experience supporting IBM mainframe environments using JCL on z/OS
    Hands on experience with batch job scheduling tools
  • Experience using a problem ticketing system
  • Experience working in a mission critical, 24/7 environment
  • Experience with systems monitoring tools and data center operations support
  • Strong understanding of technical data center principles, practices, and administration
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Self motivated approach with the ability to take initiative and resolve issues proactively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong listening ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CA Workload Automation CA 7 Edition
  • Familiarity with CA administrative tools including:
    • CA 1 Tape Management
    • CA 11 Automated Rerun and Tracking
    • CA View Output Archive and Retrieval
  • Experience with IBM virtual tape systems such as TS7770

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
