About The Role

Systems Engineer | Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

 

Active TS/SCI with polygraph required – this position supports a high-priority, funded mission.

 

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical system engineering efforts within a complex technical environment. In this role, you will contribute to the development, integration, and verification of systems that enable mission success, ensuring alignment with defined architectures and operational requirements.

You will work closely with engineering teams to manage system requirements, support technical documentation, and ensure that systems and subsystems meet performance and mission objectives. This role is well-suited for engineers with experience or exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools such as Cameo, supporting structured system design and architecture development.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial
  • Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures (DoDAF, SOA, etc.)
  • Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against requirements in written plans
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level requirements, ensuring they are complete, correct, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable
  • Prepare timeline analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent functions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • Seventeen (17) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
