About The Role
Peraton is currently hiring for an experienced Cybersecurity Integration Engineer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber Programs.

Peraton is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support our Federal Strategic Cyber Programs, delivering hands‑on engineering, integration, and security hardening across hybrid cloud and on‑premise environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform advanced RHEL/Linux system administration, including OS hardening, package management, SELinux configuration, system tuning, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments.
- Execute system builds, installations, and functional testing to deploy cybersecurity tools and platforms into production.
- Integrate and validate cybersecurity technologies, ensuring secure routing, segmentation, and connectivity across hybrid cloud/on‑prem networks.
- Conduct enterprise networking validation, including TCP/IP analysis, firewall rule verification, VLAN segmentation, and L2/L3 troubleshooting.
- Support cloud environments (Azure preferred) by validating secure connectivity, identity integration, and cloud‑native security controls.
- Transition integrated solutions to O&M teams, providing runbooks, diagrams, and configuration documentation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including physical/logical network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
- Support cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability remediation workflows, and compliance validation.
- Rack, cable, label, and integrate hardware following data center best practices.
- Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies and provide engineering recommendations.
- Provide engineering estimates and technical input for integration project planning.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required; 3 years with a Master's.
- An additional 4 years will be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree requirement.
- To be considered for this position, applicants must either currently hold one of the professional certifications listed below or obtain one prior to their start date:
- CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CCNA-Security, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CISSP (or Associate), CND, CSSLP,, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, GSLC, Security+ CE, SSCP, PPDA, Agile IC, or SNOW App Dev
- Continued certification is required as a condition of employment.
- Demonstrated RHEL/Linux administration expertise, including system hardening, CLI troubleshooting, service management, and secure configuration.
- Strong enterprise networking experience, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, VLANs, routing protocols, and hybrid cloud/on‑prem architectures.
- Hands‑on experience with system integration, testing, and deployment in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management and remediation workflows.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation (network diagrams, configuration guides).
- Understanding of NIST 800‑53, RMF, FISMA, and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Proficiency with Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, Splunk, and other troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with vSphere/ESXi, Nutanix, Citrix, or similar virtualization/VDI platforms.
- Experience with PKI, certificate management, CSRs, and identity troubleshooting.
- Windows Server administration, PowerShell, and scripting experience.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- An active Secret security clearance.
- The ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.
Details
Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
