Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is looking to hire a Data Scientist to support Scientific & Technical Intelligence (S&TI) and acquisition-focused missions.  This role is a remote role.

 

This opportunity involves applying data science methods, including data engineering, mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning—to analyze complex datasets and deliver actionable insights. The ideal candidate will create automation tools, build, monitor, tune, and maintain predictive models, and produce visual and narrative products that enable more informed analytic decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data mining, engineering, exploratory and predictive analysis to support S&TI and acquisition needs.
  • Use machine learning and statistical techniques to develop tools such as recommendation engines, automated scoring systems, and predictive models.
  • Utilize interpret-ability in models and GenAI content to foster trust and confidence in model predictions
  • Translate complex operational and analytic processes into machine-readable, automated systems.
  • Create visual, written, and verbal products that convey analytic findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Retrieve and integrate data from multiple sources and formats using Python, R, or SQL.
  • Collaborate closely with analytic methodologists and technical staff to support the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions into operational workflows.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Education:  12 years of experience with a BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or 10 years of experience with an MS, 8 years with a PhD
  • Clearance:  Active Secret  with the ability to obtain a  TS/SCI
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL,and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with machine learning, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques.
  • Experience with cloud computing data and computing environments (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with large-scale Multi-INT datasets and intelligence-driven analytics..
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-discipline teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Working knowledge of architecting AI Solutions/frameworks 
  • Experience with developing AI Models, systems to help build products, implementing machine learning models and converting them into APIs
  • Knowledge of Data Management and Governance 
  • Utility Tools knowledge (JIRA/Confluence/GitLab/Artifactory).

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Background in S&TI or acquisition-focused analytics.
  • Demonstrated success developing AI/ML tools for operational use.
  • Agile SAFe 4.5/5.0 Certification
  • Knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, system development life cycle and project management frameworks
  • Experience with software development (such as Java or Pega) and full-stack development
  • CI/CD experience preferred.
  • Experience in data privacy and data residency computing constraints

 

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
