Program Overview
About The Role

The Data Scientist will have crucial role in reviewing, maintaining, and updating Fraud Prevention System (FPS).  This will include reviewing analytic and machine learning models, integrating and reviewing the impact of system updates, working with several automated tools to deliver weekly release deployments, and assisting modelers with efficient use of complex analytic and machine learning libraries.

  • Integration of model governance for secure deployment and release of models. This includes maintaining automated release pipelines, automated testing, and overall governance checks for ML models, using MLFlow, and non-ML models.
  • Exercising strong technical and computational skills - ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using high-performance compute environments.
  • Utilizing model development lifecycle optimizations and process automation of model quality checks.
  • Ensuring data security, quality, and overall governance is at the forefront of all newly implemented changes.
  • Staying up to date with latest capabilities rolled out to current COTS products integrated into the analytics system architecture, such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Creating comprehensive documentation to support complex system integration.  
  • Assisting in operationalizing AI/ML workflows into production.
  • Communicating platform changes and escalating platform issues as they arise.
Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree with 4 years of experience; Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, Master's degree with 0 years of experience or High School Diploma with a total of 6 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience manipulating dataframes using SQL and programing in Python and R
  • Experience with MLFlow for integrated model governance into the model development lifecycle
  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC) fundamentals and experience with GitHub
  • Team player - strong desire to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills to support internal development team and external stakeholders
  • High attention to detail- ability to review a highly complex process
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with components of Databricks’ E2 Platform (Unity Catalog and Feature Store)
  • API development experience or experience utilizing Databricks REST APIs
  • Development with scripting languages, such as Python or bash, to support automated CI/CD processes
  • Experience integrating large scale analytics components to support model development
  • Experience in healthcare industry analytics and data, preferably Medicare or Medicaid

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
