About The Role

Peraton is seeking to hire a Deputy Program Manager - Behavioral Research for a well-established applied research program based out of Columbus, GA.

 

Location: Columbus, GA. This will be primarily remote/telework, but the person must be local to the Columbus, GA location and able to go on-site regularly and as needed and travel up to 25%. 

 

In this role, you will:

 

Be a leading member of the research team, providing support across multiple projects for the U.S. Army Research Institute (ARI) and other government agencies.

 

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team that conducts 8-10 research projects annually using behavioral science principles, methodologies, and technologies in an applied government setting.
  • Serve as a Primary Investigator (PI) on multiple projects.
  • Provide direct supervision of ~6 employees, including professional development, annual performance reviews, timecards, certifications, and other administrative supervisory tasks.
  • Build and maintain rapport with Contractor Officer Representatives, sub-contractors, and functional support staff.
  • Interface with customers and sponsors to meet their requirements, including detailed coordination and briefings to Army leaders.
  • Lead business development through proposals and White Papers.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance of all research products and deliverables, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
  • As required, support development of data collection instruments, collect field data, conduct interviews, enter data, conduct quality assurance checks on data, devise analytical approaches, and collate data from various sources.
  • Support the development of research results through briefings and technical reports.
  • The successful candidate must be proactive, well-organized, and adept at building and maintaining systems and processes for the team.
  • The position requires a high degree of professionalism, presence, flexibility, judgment, and discretion.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; 6 years with a PhD.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Army behavioral research projects.
  • U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PhD in a Behavioral Science field such as Psychology or Sociology.
  • Former Army field grade officer with relevant advanced degree (e.g., Psychology).
  • Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools/platforms: R, Python, Power Bi, Army Vantage or be a former Army ORSA.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
