Program Overview
About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Deputy Transition Manager to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and run cross‑task operational forums to synchronize work, de‑conflict priorities, and manage dependencies.
  • Maintain continuous engagement with functional teams and technical leads to monitor progress, risks, issues, and mitigation actions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed transition and execution plans (tasks, milestones, interdependencies, owners, tracking).
  • Synthesize complex operational data into clear status reports, briefings, slide decks, and presentation materials for program/transition leadership and stakeholders.
  • Validate reporting inputs, verify artifact completeness/quality, and enforce consistent communications across transition and operational products.
  • Facilitate information flow between teams to accelerate issue resolution and execution readiness.
  • Serve as acting program lead in the absence of the Program Manager to maintain continuity of decision‑making and operations.
  • Maintain governance artifacts: action trackers, risk/issue registers, decision logs, and handover documentation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Clearance: TS/SCI (active)
  • Education / Certification: Candidate must meet ONE:
    • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Education, or Workforce Development; OR
    • SPHR certification; OR
    • CISSP certification.
  • Experience: Progressive program/transition/operations experience with at least 3 years in senior coordination or deputy roles supporting complex technical programs (DoD experience preferred).
  • Skills: Strong program/transition planning, stakeholder engagement, status reporting, facilitation of cross‑functional forums, risk/issue management, and senior‑leader briefing capability.
  • Tools: Proficiency with IMS/Gantt tools, SharePoint/Collaboration platforms, MS PowerPoint/Excel, and issue/risk tracking systems.

Desired / Preferred

  • Prior DoD/Army/ARNG transition or program office experience
  • Experience managing multi‑task transitions, cutover activities, or large system handovers
  • Familiarity with RMF/RMF authorization processes, configuration management, and classified environment operations

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
