About The Role

Peraton is looking to hire a DevOps Software Engineer in the Washington DC Metro area.This role will be a remote position. At times the role will also require travel to the Quantico client site when necessary.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems and support the development and/or sustainment of a software development environment that covers the entire Software Development Lifecycle using current methodologies to include Continuous Deployment, Agile, and Development Operations (DevOps)
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with cross-functional engineering and development teams in the planning, design, development, and utilization of Cloud-based capabilities for the development, modification, and deployment of commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) software
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints and confers with systems analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams to design software and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces 
  • Design, develop, and modifiy software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design 
  • Coordinate software testing and deployment to ensure specifications are met 
  • Assist the Scrum Master and Scrum Team in providing technical expertise in executing contract deliverables
  • Provide support to the Chief Enterprise Architect, Release Train Engineer, Senior Leadership, and the client with regards to software development best practices
  • Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control verification within all applicable phases of software development to assure all actions are completed in accordance with appropriate policy, standards, and procedures 
Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Education: 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD; or 9 years of  applicable experience in lieu of a degree
  • Clearance:  Active TS/SCI clearance
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Local to MD/DC/VA 
  • Knowledge and experience working with Relational & NoSQL Databases. (Oracle, PostgreSQLDynamodb) 
  • Must be proactive and able to perform in a fast-paced Agile environment providing timely deliverables 
  • Experience in manipulating XML payloads to conform pre-defined XSD schemas 
  • Experience with REACT (familiar with Module Federation and or MFE (Micro Front Ends), and component library experience is a bonus
  • Experience with Spring Boot and or Node.js API, & API Integration gateways (Java, and or JS) 
  • Experience with Backend Data Integration (SQL such as Postgres, and Data Connection Elements) 
  • Experience taking direction from an Architect 
  • Experience (not a SME, just some understanding) with Gitlab, CI/CD Pipelines and preferably DoD DEVSECOPs 
  • Experience with AGILE, and SCRUM   and some experience with Docker, or Fargate, or EKS, and NGINX is a must 
  • Experience AWS GovCloud and SRG approved Native Services 
  • Optional skills is Sonarcube, Postman and or Swagger, and code vulnerability scanning 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II 
  • AWS Developer Associate Certification
Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
