Program Overview
Engineering modernization and integration practices to include Digital Engineering and Agile at Scale for all of NGA, NSG, and ASG.
About The Role

We are seeking an Expert-Level Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex, enterprise-scale systems engineering initiatives supporting geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) missions. This role applies a multidisciplinary systems engineering approach to requirements development, architecture, solution engineering, integration, testing, performance, reliability, and resiliency across interconnected government and mission partner environments.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in systems engineering, government acquisition processes, and the integration of large, complex systems-of-systems across organizational and agency boundaries. The engineer will advise government stakeholders on technical strategy, engineering trade-offs, emerging technologies, and capability development while coordinating the work of multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver effective, interoperable mission solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to government stakeholders on systems engineering strategy, technical planning, requirements development, and capability evolution.

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary systems engineering activities spanning requirements engineering, solution architecture, services development, integration, testing and evaluation, reliability, resiliency, maintainability, and performance analysis.

  • Translate mission objectives and customer needs into actionable system and capability requirements, engineering solutions, and architectural approaches.

  • Analyze, allocate, and maintain traceability of requirements across system architectures, components, and executing programs.

  • Evaluate existing systems, architectures, cloud services, workflows, and scheduling constraints to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and improved mission performance.

  • Assess proposed architecture and solution design changes based on requirements analysis, technical feasibility, emerging technologies, and evolving mission needs.

  • Support and lead engineering assessments, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), and trade studies to evaluate potential solutions and inform technical decisions.

  • Conduct and support systems integration activities to ensure interoperability across complex, interconnected systems and enterprise environments.

  • Contribute to strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and system interface design.

  • Apply systems engineering lifecycle methodologies to support the development, integration, evaluation, and sustainment of complex systems-of-systems and service-oriented architectures.

  • Support engineering efforts across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

  • Coordinate and oversee the technical work of senior-, mid-, and junior-level systems engineers, promoting consistency in engineering practices, requirements traceability, and technical deliverables.

  • Support the integration of major systems acquisitions across organizational, agency, departmental, and national boundaries to enable interoperable mission capabilities.
