Program Overview
Supports the transformation and modernization of legacy Coast Guard systems and services including mobility, messaging, ITSM, ITAM, Network Infrastructure, and legacy data systems from on premise implementations to cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. New system and service implementations, including zero trust architecture, to provide leading edge systems that are both secure and accessible.
About The Role
Peraton is seeking an IT Asset and CMDB Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a remote position. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton’s United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) program. This program is an enterprise IT delivery service and is executed to bring innovation and modernization to the USCG enterprise IT environment, within a managed service business model. The USCG enterprise encompasses an extensive range of IT infrastructure services and has unique solution challenges to meet their mission needs. The IT Asset and CMDB Analyst supports IT Service Management (ITSM) delivery operations by supporting the IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management practice areas.
This position is remote.
The IT Asset and CMDB Analyst will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Supports total asset visibility, logistics, maintenance, and warranty of assets.
- Supports the program-wide definition and implementation of a Total Asset Visibility (TAV) solution to improve asset visibility and data management.
- Maintains currency of approved hardware and software, leveraging business processes and advanced technology capabilities for inventory management.
- Supports hardware refresh program.
- Ensures accuracy of the configuration management database (CMDB) and compliance with asset and configuration management processes.
- Supports the full lifecycle management of the CMDB from record creation to final disposition.
- Develops and maintains processes to ensure asset and configuration data is identified, controlled, and maintained throughout its lifecycle.
- Develops the CMDB data model and processes to ingest, normalize, and reconcile data into the CMDB from various sources and tools in the IT environment.
- Establishes and maintains relationships between assets and configuration items.
- Develops both manual and automated CMDB processes with the objective of automating to the greatest extent possible.
- Works closely with a development team to drive efficiency and improvements to the platform hosting the CMDB.
- Maintains the authoritative CMDB baseline by leveraging change enablement and audits.
- Supports audits to provide health checks against existing data to ensure the CMDB and automated discovery databases/workflows are consistent with the physical state of all assets and configuration items in the IT environment and vice versa.
- Prepares inventory reports, business activity reports, and forecasts.
- Supports asset and configuration service level agreement(s) (SLA) including the concept of operations to measure and report.
- Presents continual service improvement ideas and recommendations for action.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
- Degree in business administration, business management, information systems, information technology, engineering, or equivalent experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship required, active secret clearance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in large, complex IT program organizations responsible for delivering IT enterprise managed services of similar scope and complexity to a Government agency.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification to align with the latest version of DESMF, or ability to obtain.
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with developing and maintaining enterprise CMDB, or similar database, and data models.
- Strong understanding of asset, configuration, and change enablement processes.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT tools, solutions, and software that provide asset and configuration data.
- Familiarity with hardware and software solutions and products used to deliver enterprise IT infrastructure services.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work well with others.
- Familiarity with DOD IT security requirements.

Details
Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
