About The Role

Peraton is seeking an Electrical AUTOCAD Operator/Draftsman to join our team in Brook Park, OH, in support of the NASA Glenn Engineering and Research Support (GEARS) Contract team. As a major partner of the GEARS team, Peraton is responsible for providing multi-disciplinary engineering services to maintain, enhance and improve the facilities at the NASA John Glenn Research Center.


In this position, you will work in a dynamic, team-based development environment as a member of our facility Central Process System (CPS) engineering and design group, to modify and develop electrical power and control system drawings in support of electrical control systems throughout the NASA Glenn Research Center campus. You will work closely with our design engineers to assure drawings are accurate and compliant with all GRC design and drafting standards.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and modify detailed drawings using AutoCAD software, based on sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering.
  • Verify drawing plots against project input for accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure model accuracy and incorporate drawing changes in accordance with Facility Change Requests (FCRs).
  • Conduct site visits at NASA Glenn Research Center facilities to collect system information, hardware configurations, and technical details.
  • Provide project status updates to clients and company management through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Monitor deliverables and conduct thorough quality reviews before submission to customers.
  • Participate in technical meetings to identify performance issues, develop corrective action procedures, and recommend modifications.
  • Document procedures for all technical aspects of assigned work.
Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma with three years of directly related CAD experience; an Associates degree or technical training in CAD design and drafting is preferred.
  • Experience using AUTOCAD design software (current version is AutoCAD 2024).
  • Experience in creating and modifying electrical schematics, connection diagrams and hardware configuration drawings in a professional environment.
  • Experience with utilization of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel).
  • Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

 

Desired Experience:

  • Experience or knowledge using the Synergis ADEPT data management system
  • Experience with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other related drawings standards 
Details

Target Salary Range: $39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
