Engineering modernization and integration practices to include Digital Engineering and Agile at Scale for all of NGA, NSG, and ASG.
About The Role

We are seeking a Junior Integration Engineer with foundational knowledge of the Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) lifecycle—including Architecture, Requirements, CONOPS, Integration, Test, and Transition—to support enterprise transformation initiatives across Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) mission systems and programs.

 

The ideal candidate has familiarity with GEOINT Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED), hands-on experience with project management and visualization tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Tableau, and a strong desire to learn and grow in a collaborative engineering environment.

You are a critical thinker who enjoys performing detailed analyses, creatively communicating engineering outcomes, and building strong relationships with customers, teammates, and partner organizations.

 

As a member of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Division’s Integration Team, you will work alongside Expert-, Senior-, and Mid-Level Systems Engineers and Integrators to support enterprise modernization efforts and deliver integrated solutions across the GEOINT mission.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Engineering & Integration Support

  • Support integration activities across NGA Program Executive Offices (PEOs), ensuring synchronization of activities and documentation of the enterprise baseline, including architectures, requirements, and interfaces.
  • Participate in baseline analysis activities that drive allocation of requirements to system architecture components and executing programs.
  • Assist in the development of integrated project plans, requirements, epics, target-state architectures, CONOPS, and roadmaps.
  • Help define and improve modernized system integration processes.

Engineering Analysis

Working alongside Expert-, Senior-, and Mid-Level Engineers, Integrators, and Architects, you will:

  • Participate in architecture gap analyses and support development of the Future State Enterprise Architecture.
  • Assist with engineering analyses that inform GEOINT mission and IT capability investment decisions aligned with the Enterprise Architecture baseline.
  • Participate in:
    • Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs)
    • Courses of Action (COAs)
    • Trade Studies
    • Engineering Assessments
    • Enterprise Requirements Analyses
  • Contribute to recommendations that support investment decisions, including system consolidation and divestiture efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Participate in systems integration activities across organizations.
  • Contribute to integrated project teams and support development of:
    • Project plans
    • Architecture and engineering artifacts (e.g., CONOPS)
    • Roadmaps and schedules
    • Risk documentation
  • Support modernization initiatives across:
    • Analytic
    • Collection Management
    • Data Services
    • Foundation GEOINT
    • Information Technology
  • Participate in NGA Governance, Configuration Management, and Risk Management processes.
  • Ensure integrated solutions and successful capability delivery across multiple stakeholders and organizations.

Digital Engineering & Visualization

Working within NGA's Digital Engineering Environment, you will:

  • Support development of engineering products and collaborative planning activities.
  • Leverage project management and visualization tools to develop:
    • Interactive dashboards
    • Team collaboration sites
    • Pilot and prototype capabilities
  • Provide analytical and visualization support to enhance Integration Team effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent junior-level  4+ years' experience as an Integration Engineer may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Junior-level experience (0-6 years') in government or industry supporting database management or Big Data analysis.
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GEOINT TCPED architecture, including data providers, systems/services, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Knowledge of transformational technologies and initiatives, including Artificial Intelligence, multi-cloud environments, and edge node architectures.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification(s).
  • Experience with public speaking and delivering presentations or briefings.
  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
