Engineering modernization and integration practices to include Digital Engineering and Agile at Scale for all of NGA, NSG, and ASG.
About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to support mission-critical initiatives across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and Federal Agencies. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers and government stakeholders to support systems engineering activities that ensure timely, accurate, and reliable GEOINT capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support systems engineering activities including requirements engineering, solutions engineering, integration, testing, maintainability, reliability, and resiliency efforts.
  • Assist with planning, requirements analysis, and traceability across system architectures, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Support efforts to automate or improve existing systems and evaluate cloud service capabilities and scheduling limitations.
  • Contribute to solution design activities based on customer requirements, technical analysis, and emerging technologies.
  • Assist in translating mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements.
  • Support requirements allocation across system architecture components and related programs.
  • Assist with systems integration activities across NSG/ASG environments.
  • Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.
  • Assist with strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design activities.

Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical or scientific field such as:

    • Engineering
    • Physics
    • Mathematics
    • Operations Research
    • Engineering Management
    • Computer Science
    • Information Technology
    • Management Information Systems
    • Related STEM discipline

    Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree:

    • 4 additional years of experience with no degree, or
    • 2 additional years of experience with a non-STEM degree
  • 0–6 years of systems engineering experience in government or industry environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance adjudication, or ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully pass a polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and languages.
  • Working knowledge of software development frameworks.
  • Understanding of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) environments and mission areas.
  • Previous experience supporting NGA and/or NSG/ASG programs.
  • Previous Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) program experience.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
