Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Modernization Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

 

The ideal candidate will oversee, facilitate, and manage all activities related to customer relationship management (CRM) modernization efforts, including implementation of the overall strategy and chosen CRM solutions. The Modernization Lead will play a critical role in ensuring smooth and effective technical solutions to include maintenance of current systems, enhancements, and major modernization efforts at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

 

The Modernization Lead’s responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating transition activities and meetings, including system demos of the current platform, walkthroughs of the current system documentation library, and other collaboration activities.
  • Actively participating in planning sessions, requirements gathering activities, design sessions, Agile modeling sessions, and other events to support the CRM modernization.
  • Shaping the CRM modernization strategy by defining the goals, objectives, and desired outcomes of the modernization effort.
  • Managing and documenting methods of communication, coordination of activities, work activities, processes, and procedures to ensure seamless CRM daily operations through the implementation and cutover to a modernized CRM.
  • Ensuring resources are collaborative and available to address inquiries about the current CRM.
  • Ensuring relevant resources attend system development ceremonies.
  • Managing change and adoption, executing change management plans, training end-users, communicating the benefits of the modernization effort, and addressing challenges.
  • Monitoring CRM performance, optimizing usage, tracking key metrics, and implementing enhancements to maximize the value and effectiveness of the CRM application.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Oracle Siebel or Pega.
  • Proven expertise in backlog management, sprint planning, and agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with experience engaging senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of agile metrics, reporting, and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Strong understanding of risk management, budgeting, and program governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
  • Proven track record of leading change management for major modernization efforts.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Must reside close to Woodlawn, MD as this is a hybrid role.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist.
  • Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
  • Experience with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) or Federal Healthcare Programs.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of CMS processes and standards.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
