About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for our Oracle Database Administrator position on the Postal TSS program. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, building and analyzing database management systems.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Design, develop, build, and maintain enterprise database management systems and application databases.
  • Develop and maintain database models, relational database architectures, schemas, metadata, and data repositories.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to develop database structures that support application and mission needs.
  • Perform data mapping, data mining, and data transformation activities to support database development and integration.
  • Determine data storage requirements, capacity needs, and optimal storage configurations for database environments.
  • Develop system requirements, source analyses, process analyses, and technical designs throughout the database implementation lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and select database technologies, software, hardware, storage, and networking components based on performance, scalability, and operational requirements.
  • Write, analyze, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database operations to improve performance and scalability.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Implement and maintain database replication solutions to support availability, resiliency, and business continuity.
  • Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, configuration, and data integrity issues.
  • Perform database configuration management, upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with application developers, systems engineers, network engineers, and infrastructure teams to support database integrations and deployments.
  • Document database architectures, configurations, data structures, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Conduct testing and validation of database changes, migrations, integrations, backup procedures, and replication configurations.
  • Monitor database capacity and growth trends and recommend changes to ensure continued performance, availability, and scalability.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachlor's degree and 12+ years experience, Master's degree and 10+ years experience or high school diploma/GED with 16+ years experience. 
  • U.S. Citizenship 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining relational databases.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, including writing and tuning complex queries.
  • Experience with database modeling, schema design, and relational database architecture.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication.
  • Knowledge of data mapping, data transformation, and data integration.
  • Experience analyzing database performance, capacity, and storage requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, configuration, and data integrity issues.
  • Experience with database configuration management, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, database designs, requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Experience working with infrastructure teams involving servers, storage, networking, and applications.
  • Strong understanding of database security, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
