Program Overview
Nationwide program dedicated to maintaining IT infrastructure operations across TSA. Contract supports all US airports and 30+ US Embassy/Consulates international sites across 30 different countries where TSA is present
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a results-driven Process Improvement Specialist to support our mission-critical work with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the IMPACT II OED Program Manager in driving strategic improvements, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and streamlining internal processes across a dynamic federal IT environment. This is an opportunity to contribute to national security and public safety through meaningful, hands-on work that improves operational performance and service delivery.

 

Location: This is a part-time remote role ideal for a seasoned Process Improvement Specialist who thrives in a collaborative, high-impact role.

 

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead initiatives that drive efficiency and effectiveness across the IMPACT II OED team.
  • Collaborate with the OED staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all contractual deliverables (CDRLs).
  • Assist in preparing and validating SLA data in coordination with the IMPACT II Program Management Office (PMO) and OED staff.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to meet or exceed SLA targets with the OED teams.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with OED staff.
  • Guide enhancements and training for ServiceNow (including CMDB, SLA configuration, and reporting functions).
  • Support weekly and monthly OED program reviews by compiling and analyzing key performance data and metrics.
  • Work with subject matter experts to streamline and enhance the Information Security Vulnerability Management (ISVM) process.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and working groups from concept to completion.
  • Identify and recommend training and development opportunities for the OED team.
  • Provide training and performance plans as needed.
  • Assist the OED Program Manager in compiling data for weekly and monthly OED status reviews (ppt slides, incident metrics, change metrics, action items, etc.)
  • Identify OED initiatives for continuous process improvement and lead working groups to completion.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 14 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years relevant experience.  
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a DHS EOD clearance.
  • 10+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure and operational requirements.
  • Proven experience as a Process Improvement Specialist.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with SLA data and apply performance metrics.
  • Strong knowledge of change, release, and configuration management.
  • Experience in staff training and performance development.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • ITIL Foundation v4 certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Independent self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Analytical thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
