About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals to support our First Responder Solutions team. 

 

This position is remote. 

 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify, analyze, and document business needs and translate them into actionable technical and functional requirements to align with project and organizational goals.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions meet business objectives and facilitating collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Gather requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and observations, and collaborate to define and prioritize requirements.
  • Analyze current processes to identify opportunities for improvement or automation and support decision-making through insights derived from requirements analysis and process evaluation.
  • Work with development teams to ensure understanding of requirements and alignment with the proposed solution.
  • Support testing and validation efforts to ensure delivered features meet documented requirements.
  • Produce key deliverables including business requirements documents (BRDs), process flow diagrams, requirements traceability matrices, gap analysis reports, and validation documentation.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery and stakeholder alignment.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or High School diploma with 12 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • 5 or more years of Business Analyst experience, preferably supporting mission critical or public safety environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend modernization or automation opportunities.
  • Strong expertise in requirements gathering, process analysis, and documentation, including Business Requirements
  • Documents, process flows, traceability matrices, and use cases.
  • Experience creating and documenting software requirements, including writing user stories and collaborating closely with software development teams throughout the build process.
  • Experience supporting product focused initiatives and partnering with Product Owners to define and deliver product roadmaps.
  • Proven ability to translate public safety operational needs into functional and technical requirements for software and system development.
  • Agile delivery experience, working with cross functional teams to ensure timely and effective solutions.
    Excellent communication and collaboration skills to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Direct experience with public safety software systems such as Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), or 911/NG911 solutions
  • Hands-on professional experience as a dispatcher, call taker, or in a public safety operations role
  • Knowledge of enterprise application architectures supporting mission-critical services
  • Agile certification (SAFe, Scrum, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of system design processes for high-reliability, real-time environments
  • Experience with CAD systems, .NET, SQL Server, Oracle Server, or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
  • Exposure to web application development and UI/UX design for emergency operations systems

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
