About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking to hire an experienced Psychological Operations (PSYOP) / Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Planner to integrate MISO functions across all facets of Combatant Command (CCMD) / Unified Command-level planning.

 

This role ensures PSYOP/MISO considerations are fully incorporated into command decision‑making, contingency plans, operations plans, and both deliberate and crisis‑action planning processes.

 

Location: On-site, Fort Meade, MD

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert mission analysis, analytic problem solving, and assessment support.
  • Applying creativity in the use of information systems and information-related capabilities (IRCs).
  • Integrating effectively with interagency partners and the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Developing innovative concepts to counter adversarial information activities in the Information Environment (IE).
  • Incorporating key cultural factors into operational and tactical planning, security considerations, and risk assessments.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Review, analyze, and operationalize tactical- and operational-level IO-related directives in support of mission elements.
  • Apply PSYOP/MISO expertise across tactical, operational, and strategic planning and execution.
  • Identify and track measures of performance and measures of effectiveness.
  • Provide informed recommendations on PSYOP/MISO integration during the development of operational concepts.
  • Possess working knowledge of Information Operations (IO), Military Deception (MILDEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyberspace Operations, including how these warfighting functions synchronize and support operational objectives.
  • Be familiar with core, supporting, and related IO competencies to assist CCMD planners.
  • Demonstrate mastery in oral, visual, and written communication and briefing techniques.
  • Excel at advising, negotiating, and persuading managers, military officials, and senior leaders, effectively gaining acceptance for recommended concepts, policies, and guidance.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years of planning experience. An additional 4 years will be considered in lieu of the bachelors degree requirement. 
  • PSYOP (37A/37F) career field or equivalent from other services.
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of the Joint Operational Planning Process, Military Decision-Making Process, military campaign planning, targeting processes, and in developing and assessing tactical and operational PSYOP/MISO plans and orders.
  • Minimum of 5 years of MISO planning experience at the service or joint level in support of operations at Combatant Commands or Joint Task Forces.
  • Understanding of service department functions (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force) and their relationships to CCMDs to coordinate PSYOP/MISO actions through appropriate channels.
  • Experience with joint and/or combined military operations and interagency coordination, with demonstrated familiarity in:
    • DoD, joint, and Army doctrine, regulations, and policies
    • Recommending changes to policy, force structure/design, and command relationships
  • Proficiency in integrating PSYOP/MISO capabilities into cyber plans and operations.
  • Knowledge of military command relationships and command and control (C2) procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate PSYOP/MISO actions through proper channels and develop policies aligned with C2 principles.
  • Experience in integrating, coordinating, and synchronizing adjacent/supporting operations and enabling related capabilities.
  • Familiarity, certification, or operational field experience in:
    • Military Deception (MILDEC)
    • OPSEC
    • Electronic Warfare (EW)
    • Cyberspace operations
    • Coordinating intelligence requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required. 
  • Possess a current U.S. Passport.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to complete/pass a Polygraph.

  • Recent joint or service-level Information Operations planning experience.
  • Joint Cyber Operations Planners Course.
  • Current CI Polygraph.
  • Joint Information Operations Planner Course.
  • Defense OPSEC Planner Course.
  • Special Warfare Advanced Targeting and Analysis Course.
  • Special Operations MILDEC Planners Course.
  • Irregular Warfare Course.
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance.

 

 

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
