We are seeking highly cleared professionals who excel at the intersection of advanced communications infrastructure, distributed systems, and mission assurance—where reliability, security, and performance are paramount. 

Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared SATCOM Engineer – Senior to support this mission at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. 

Responsibilities:  

As a SATCOM Engineer - Senior, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include: 

  • Serves as a lead technical expert in designing, implementing, and optimizing on-site engineering solutions for mission-critical C2ISR SATCOM infrastructure across diverse global operational environments. 
  • Leads complex SATCOM installation, integration, and activation projects, overseeing teams and ensuring optimal performance of ground terminals, modems, baseband equipment, and network interfaces. 
  • Architects and implements advanced on-site diagnostic strategies for persistent SATCOM link degradations, interference, and network integration challenges, providing expert-level problem resolution. 
  • Directs and coordinates rapid, globally deployable support operations, ensuring efficient execution of installations, pre-deployments, deployments, and crew change-out requests related to SATCOM. 
  • Oversees and performs dedicated touch labor for complex corrective maintenance, component upgrades, and system repair actions on SATCOM terminals and associated classified systems, ensuring maximum uptime. 
  • Manages the sustainment of enterprise cross domains by ensuring robust SATCOM connectivity and secure data flow for ISR data dissemination hubs, including integrating with CDS. 
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple high-impact SATCOM assignments, guiding junior and journeyman engineers, and contributing to strategic initiatives for C2ISR SATCOM resilience. 
  • Utilizes the following TO Management & Financial Tracking Tools: Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate); G Invoicing API; ASSIST portal integration; variance analysis dashboards; MS Project; Primavera; GFP management modules; WBS tracking systems; ServiceNow; Jira Service Desk; automated RIP/CTP/TAR workflows; SharePoint libraries; Confluence; Microsoft Search; lessons learned databases; video library repositories; Archer GRC eMASS, Archer GRC; internal audit portals; Excel/SharePoint audit templates; CMDB with version control; Power BI with R/Python integration; Tableau; predictive analytics engines; Teams; Azure AD role based access; mobile access via Power Apps. 
  • Utilizes the following Role Specific Tools: Microsoft Word; Excel; SharePoint; Confluence; ServiceNow; Jira; basic RF diagnostic tools; cabling test equipment. 
Qualifications

Required qualifications: 

  • Previous experience as a SATCOM Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 3 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 1 years’ experience with a Ph.D. OR 9 years without a degree OR 7 years with AS/AA
  • A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level 
  • US citizenship is required 
  • DOD 8140 Compliance based on functional role for WRC: 441 Network Operations Specialist, Intermediate Level / ability to obtain 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Must complete DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment. 
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 6 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 3 years’ experience with a Ph.D. OR 12 years without a degree OR 10 years with AS/AA

Work Environment:  

  • Location: Pope Army Airfield, NC 
  • On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking 
  • Travel: May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments

Details

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
