Join a high-impact, fast-paced technical team driving the future of ground architecture for national security missions.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the NEE Joint Ground Architecture Technical Team (J-GATT). In this critical role, you’ll lead modernization efforts that strengthen collaboration between the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and its Mission Partners, delivering next-generation capabilities across the Intelligence Community.
You will apply your full lifecycle Systems Engineering & Integration expertise and your in-depth understanding of GEOINT, the TCPED cycle (Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination), and NGA/NRO architecture to lead engineering assessments and implementation planning.
Lead enterprise-level engineering analyses, ranging from rapid "Quick Looks" to in-depth Enterprise Impact Assessments, focusing on impacts to architecture, requirements, CONOPS, and mission operations.
Document findings and develop well-reasoned Courses of Action (COAs) to address architectural changes, including cost, risk, schedule, and test impacts.
Present technical recommendations to Government leadership in formal Boards, Forums, and Working Groups.
Drive cross-agency projects from planning through transition to operations, ensuring seamless integration of modernization efforts into enterprise baselines.
Evaluate and respond to Joint Agency Requests for Change (RFCs); author RFCs to capture and baseline joint ground architecture updates.
Provide subject matter expertise to support Joint Agency and NGA Boards, identifying risks and supporting collaborative decision-making.
Participate in Risk Management processes to identify and mitigate mission and technical risks.
Mentor and guide mid- and junior-level systems integrators and engineers on the J-GATT team.
Your leadership will directly influence the success of mission-critical modernization initiatives, helping NGA and its partners deliver timely, accurate, and integrated GEOINT capabilities. You’ll work across agency boundaries, drive enterprise alignment, and lead high-visibility projects that shape the future of joint ground systems.
